Hospitals: St. Marys' Hospital in Grand Junction. State-of-the-art, regional hospital located 60 minutes from Cedaredge. Delta County Memorial Hospital. Excellent county hospital 15 minutes from Cedaredge. Montrose Memorial Hospital located in Montrose, 45 minutes from Cedaredge. Real Estate: Overall the state of Colorado is more expensive than other parts of the country. Enjoy all the road side stands and purchase fruits and vegetables grown locally. Olathe Sweet Corn is considered some of the best in the nation. Cedaredge grows 7 seven different kinds of apples. Paonia cherries are heaven. Tomatoes are eaten like apples and not the waxy tastless variety that you find in the big chain grocery store. Wineries: in the Cedaredge area we have Stoney Mesa Winery, Surface Creek Winery and Jack Rabbit Hill. Hotchiss and Paonia areas host Leroux Creek, Black Bridge, Auzura, Stone Cottage Cellars, Terror Creek, Alfred Ames and several more in the Olathe. If you live in the Grand Valley and you are a generally happy person or sport a nice tan, there may now be a mathematical explanation for why. Grand Junction is the seventh-sunniest city in the U.S., according to Tourism-Review.com, an Internet tourism news provider. The sunniest cities were determined based on those that boast the greatest percentage of annual daylight hours during which the sun shines. The only city in Colorado that made the list fell between Lake Charles, La., and Honolulu, Hawaii. Yuma, Ariz., topped the rankings, with the sun shining during 90 percent of its daylight hours each year.
